During the last years before the century turned, and a few years afterward, the shop of Xue-Chang Sun in Beijing made some of the finest cellos Eastman ever sold. These came through the original Eastman Boston location: they contained amazing quality wood (look closely at the photos) and were put together with seriously skilled hands. This one is in near perfect condition. It is pleasantly lightweight, easy to finger and engage, and best of all is a terrific player. At the time, the model 905 was their top of the line, the best they had to offer. To this day, we’ve seen nothing from Eastman that can compete with this cello.
